Home Rule means politicians will decide how high our taxes and fees rise – without our permission. In fact, Richton Park politicians are planning to create a new sales tax on purchases made in town, making every trip to the grocery store, the gas pump – even family pizza night more expensive if Home Rule authority is approved. What’s worse? Home Rule allows politicians to raise our property taxes without voter approval.
The Cost
With a new Home Rule Sales Tax every trip to get groceries or run errands will cost more. Every trip to fill prescriptions or fill up your gas tank. Morning coffee? New sales tax. Family pizza night? New sales tax.
We can’t afford the cost of Home Rule: Vote No on March 19th.
